well, as you can tell, i've been both swamped and awol, as my postings have been few and far between.
between hustling out work for vpc and wesley's elm office earlier this month, and then adding a concert (vpc) and worship service (wesley) the last week to my already over-running plate, i've been a bit overwhelmed.
i'm so worn out i really need about three weeks on some deserted beach in some faraway country so i can sleep and read and turn brown, but instead, i got new jersey. i headed out of town for a few days (princeton area) a couple of weeks ago to visit some dear friends i haven't seen in three years.
oh, and i had a job interview at wesley for the director of communications for development and recruitment the day after i got back from new jersey.
oh, and the day after THAT, i dogsat for a couple of crazy mutts for a week. i'm still trying to recover.
so the concert this weekend is a concert for peace, with some prayer time thrown in for good measure. the bulk of the concert is three pieces from r. vaughn william's 'dona nobis pacem'...we get to do a particularly challenging movement (beat! beat! drums!) which sort of makes me laugh as i have only gone over it ONE TIME with the choir - that being a couple of nights ago and the concert is TOMORROW. i did pretty well sight-reading it during rehearsal. i've almost got the rhythm down but decided to go ahead and count it out during the actual concert as this is not the time to try and do it by feel. maybe next time with a few more rehearsals.
i've posted some print work i've been putting together. at the top is curriculum for vpc and below is the spiritual stories booklet and poster/postcard for small groups....
there's more work coming but for the life of me i can't remember what. oh...one item of note is the worship service celebrating the retirement of cathy kapikian, the director of wesley's arts program and a woman who changed my life. the folks at wesley are kind enough to have me participate by putting together a pre-service loop and doing all the print work....

more later, gators....
